Central to ALVA's advocacy work is providing information on policies and programmes of the Government and donor organisations to its members. ALVA gathers information and provides perspectives on issues that affect the voluntary sector, for its members especially those that work at grass-roots level and do not have convenient access to mainstream media and national government offices.

Information is disseminated through its bi-monthly newsletter E-ALVA and also publishes books, monographs, conference proceedings and primers on themes concerning NGOs and civil society in general. The purpose is to educate, update and form an interactive platform with our members and associates which would cater to the myriad of issues they face in the operation of their organizations.

Dissemination of detailed and nuanced information is the mandate of ALVA.
